Purnea University in Purnea College

Ever since C M of Bihar had created the three new versities in Bihar, ambitions arose very high in the Purnea College employees. Finally on March 18, 2018 this became true. As time passed men from this college were transferred to work as the university employees which filled hope and joy. More time passed and the employees of the college felt shortage of hands since the process of transfer became more frequent. It seems as if the university has taken over this college. Let us see when a new balance is restored so that university and the college enjoy the same spirit of progress.

Above Dark Clouds

Life often seems to be fully under control of unseen circumstances- not palatable so that normalcy  may prevail. So it looked in past few months. But we humans are equally forgetful to overcome sad events and experiences. This enables us to live otherwise the life might have been  dark and uninteresting. We must compare such situations with one when we fly amidst heavy clouds and downpours only till we reach upto some heights. Because beyond that we are above dark clouds to witness crystal clear skyline.

Future of Our Socio-Ecomoic Conditions in a Global Sense

Our present reality shows the facts of real and virtual impacts of globalization. As I read some views of successful entrepreneurs of USA it clearly indicates a summary about how the great era of industrial age with the consequential benefits of high mass consumption mainly through the provision of greater governance and its end-results is shrinking drastically. Here in a socially-developed and free market economy in the Western World, economic advancements are well researched and quickly apprehensible for a wider section of society in such a way that sets virtual edge over many other contradictions prevalent side by side to buoy up and grow. In a sharp contrast, we have no clear successful medium of massive socio-economic transformation which may provide any alternative to combat the overall western influence engulfing our past values and forthcoming thought patterns as well as modus operandi in almost all aspects of life in a developing country like ours i.e. India. There are many retarding factors which challenge the very continuity of modern values in the perspective of radical ideas flopped globally long ago, looming large over our society and economy.
Under such circumstances, it may not be ruled out that the acceptability and feasibility of governmental planning and actions should be replaced by an alternative method of nation-building. It requires a concentrated effort-process. We have to sustain our strong values which are fast eroding and weakening the socio-cultural fabric. Here comes an onus for the academia to research and evolve what suits us most in terms of society and economy both. Our biggest liability is over population which if harnessed properly should be our biggest asset. Our leaders have rather loudly focused on this issue and the whole world is looking if we are truly heading for the same. Let us involve our academic resource at least to fathom the problem. Our society is at crossroads in search of a change. In the absence of some workable formula to rigly guide it, our strength often becomes a weakness to march on the path of a better future.
The past experiences of planning strategy had to be altered. Demonetisation, GST and many other
ideas are some major areas which are being tried for a change. Our democracy provides another
bright aspect as a firm proof of our global support in favour of a greater share in more spheres to
lead the nation. Our leaders travel globally to attract people's support for different motives some of which have created havoc for our enemy-nations too. Our teachers and students have to make their
increasing role to evaluate, self-guide and research means and ways to explain the issues of socio-cultural change not for the sake of self-existence but mostly for the purpose of our national solidarity.
Our national economy is growing rapidly and at the same time becoming  vulnerable
because of  the growing international pressures.
Developing nations commonly suffer from resource deficiency in their nation-building efforts
which further diverts and retards the process away from completion. Hence this issue needs socio-cultural treatment more than fund allocation.  Besides as we find a general inclination of the acade
mic / social thinkers to draw the attention of the public away from wholly worldly attractions due  to
the constraints of indefinite material growth and the resultant illusion and despair even in US where
writers opine to find solution in something more than physical life which needs an expression beyond the realm of time, space and matter as well. Gary Zukav terms such conditions as a time of deep change to experience the road upon which we travel our destination and what it all is that is motion, of physical as well as non-physical life. Our physical life is so much hyped all around that we ignore
a no less important part of our self realization, unexpressed and unborn to leave us, our inner self, to remain less satisfied. This is a segmented self, incomplete personality of human entity and an unbalanced realm of everything that the humanity is today face to face with.
Let us think how the society as well as our economy advance towards attainment of the desired goals
against odds and difficult conditions in a comparable time-span competing the other outwardly forces specially of the rich West. It has so far been less than satisfactory and as a result, we face the conditions in our native land what the westerners had faced decades ago. This makes a time gap of almost fifty years to catch up. And by the time, the rich will have an altogether different realm of affairs. Hence the gap is to last for unforeseen length of time among the nations of the world. This ugly  state of socio-cultural gap entwined with the economic disparities causes sufferings for the global growth in terms of widespread hatred and violence among humans so much as to render the whole planet prone to devastation and disgrace beyond imagination. Apart from the fact that the  empowered rich nations were the worst sufferers of world wars because accumulation of wealth, invention of science and know-how and political domination over a vast part of the globe, they lacked greatly in terms of compassion and harmony which drew these fighting rival nations to decimate each other. An atomic warfare alone could make the fighting warriors of Japan to surrender. Hitler committed a suicide. These days we find the same pattern of crime, imprisonment and punishments.
The instances are in plenty such as the gulf countries, the Korean peninsula and even our own sub-continent besides other parts of the world. The present day monitoring role has been usurped by USA and its parallel power centres.
Regarding socio-economic similarities and vice versa, let us see how the causal relationship functions in the advanced American condition. With the acceptance of globalization and its fast impacts, a rumour catches momentum that the jobs for the American whites and the whole American
job-seekers are being substituted by the outsiders which finally upsets the mass- psyche as much as to radicalize its old political values and puts a person like Donald Trump at its supreme post.
President Putin, Pres. Xing Jiao of China and the UK Prime Minister David Camrun (sorry for spelling mistakes of these dignitaries)  follow the suit in the context of political metamorphoses after the said global phenomena where military aggression overshadowed by commercial expansion rules the roost. Our nation fights on so many fronts and our socio-cultural commitments are fast changing
under the changing political regimes at the state and the central levels. The issues like job-reservation, women's quota, privatization and so forth are some prime social as well as political concerns.

A Letter-Part-II

............Besides trust, what affects us much these days is our over-emphatic-attitude regarding others, their behavioral responses and our own reactions. We come to a conclusion quickly without going into the heart of the matter because we have least time for a true review of each and every thing that we face each time. For such problems which arise indefinitely in our day to day life, one big solution exists. This relates to our perception of each encounter with such things. If we do not decide, if we take things lightly and more so if our conclusion over anything becomes non-judgmental then our own mental  pressures will defuse. Who am I to label someone else, right or wrong? Why not so be left apart? Something of this sort actually unloads many riddles of the human mind. Wisdom refers such a phenomenon to be the non-judgmental justice which helps human mind to be impersonal, devoid of negative emotions. This is  a maturation of our own spirit. This is also the creation of a higher order of logic and understanding. With feelings we attend to that order.
Acknowledgement of your feelings is another necessity to take a wise action. Similarly you must be aware of your intention. Hence feeling and intention combined prove to be a wiser tool for the creation of a higher order that is also known as an intuition coming from within. This helps to learn the most effective choice for you. This becomes an intuitive process of one's own self. It represents consciousness.
With this much, I close my narrative.
Yours loving father.

A letter from a father

Dearest, I choose this form of writing deliberately. I feel a necessity to pen down after reading books of much value and practical use. I was busy reading first, such topics that are meant to grow your physical power, which attributes to worldly possessions necessary for our common existence. Money, wealth and future assets are some strong aspects for our survival. But I continued my reading effort and this time, I encountered with an interesting part relating to our non-physical needs which I mostly find in religious scripts or holy books like 'Bhagvat Gita'. Much interestingly, sitting in a purely western environment wherein science, technology and practical logic hold good in almost all spheres, a book narrating what our inner feelings and intuitions require not just in daily life but rather in each moment of our precious life, becomes so significant as to note a few things here just as an impetus to inform an important person in my life that you are.
What-ifs of our life eat into our life's vitals so let not lose our powers over these which are countless. It is better to keep power just in the day that we live on the earth, and not on how to manage tomorrow. The worldly connections are to be used totally without panic or fear. Let us keep in our mind that the universe operates unlike humankind. Live in the trust that when it is appropriate, pieces will fall into place and we will see clearly. Challenge  with the trust in your self rather than letting energy leak to a future that does not exist.
With this much , I wish you all success. I hope to continue as I myself learn more.
yours loving father

Journey to the Grand Canyon National Park

Our days in U.S. is decreasing and consequently it was decided to visit this national park without delay on Saturday, March 10. The google forecast had been clearly showing the possibility of 40% shower on that day there. So we proceeded with  some concern and pray for the sojourn to become as much successful as feasible.
By 12.45 p.m. we were at the Visitors' Centre and only clouds filled the sky but the presence of so many visitors had reassured us that much as to take some eatables as well as  to view  a movie concerning the magnificence of this place in the attached theatre. By that time we had liberty to go outside by an orange-shuttle-bus to its route sights.
We had reached a sight of beauty that instantly mesmerized me thoroughly to stay as long as possible to view the canyon in a very high spirit. A lot of mobile shooting from various angles of the depth and its colorful sights took us far into a trance. By the time we got another route-bus at the visitors centre, we found a slow drizzle. Thereafter, we started roaming around and around without getting a chance to physically alight  the bus to reach the other noted spots of sight-seeing due to rising pressure of both, colder wind and shower outside. After reaching the visitors centre we were almost certain to confine against the weather factor.
At 4.30 p.m. we ventured by car to try for another sight-seeing route which could not rightly be noted while driving in a difficult state of mind.
Despite the fact that we had not seen 100% of the grand canyon national park, even a 40% was a sufficient slice for me and wife to remember its enjoyment and adventure. Specially a lover of showers and hills since childhood days, for me it was a trip beyond description with full satiety.

Some Key Notes from Robert T. Kiyosaki's "THE BUSINEE OF THE 21ST CENTURY"

Part One: Take Control of Your Future and Don't be Fooled Again. The Silver Lining- When times are bad is when the real entrepreneurs emerge. The Employment Mythology: During the Agrarian Age, most people were entrepreneurs. The age for retirement was 65 on the orders of Bismarck in 1889. Then the average life of people was45.
Where do you live? E for employees, S for small business, B for Big business and I for investors. These are 1st,2nd, 3rd and 4th quadrants.
Changing Jobs is not changing quadrants, it is better changing your address.
E is for security, S is for independence, B is for independence and I is for financial freedom. A circle of friends who share your dreams and values.
The power of your own Network.V = N sqare.Money flows to the business with the best leaders.
The Four Elements of Leadership: mental, physical, spiritual and emotional.
A real world business education contains three kinds of education, scholastic education i.e. formal teaching to read, write and do math. Professional education i.e. how to work for money preparing you for life in the E and S quadrants. Financial education i.e. learning to have money work for you.
Life skills: It tells about the network marketing for people to learn real-world skills of an entrepreneur.
Get rich quick is an oxymoron.

An Encounter with Nature's Bounty in Litch Field Park

When we had been planning to visit Litch Field Park, Rakesh had shown his knowledge about it through his close friend, Saurav who had himself an insufficient amount of information of the same. this trip was a maiden visit for each of us.
After our arrival at the park around 1.45p.m. we knew its popularity and significance since there was a large number of visitors, mostly from Phoenix and surrounding townships as I imagine, including babies and children with their guardians on that week-end Sunday afternoon we entered into the park having paid $40 per adult and its half per child with a consession of $5 per head.
We first saw a section full of colourful birds. The American flamingoes were looking so charming. A large number of pea-cocks were next- some of which gave their live activities on an open space whereas the others were lying under cages. Some people gave live-shows of pet parrots and another tiny creature. We now moved towards the water life, fishes in hundreds of variety were comfortably swimming in huge aquariums, some of these were like rope, pipe, grass, stone, rectangle, round and in all possible colours. We then entered a sea lion show at 3.30. Rakesh told this to be performing less than average despite the trainers of the sea lion tried utmost. For us it was splendid. We now rushed to wildlife encounter show of 15 minute duration. There we had trained birds performing nicely at their trainer's command.
We henceforth started to endeavor to find and enjoy the vast animal kingdom within the stipulated period i.e. to finish before 6 p.m. and again enter the diversity of life in water. We had now big cats of all around the world, lions,  a variety of deers, monkeys, vultures, foxes, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, camels, wart hogs with shining teeth, saltwater crocodiles, snakes, birds and what not ? Around 6 p.m. we went to a child play center while Rakesh headed for woolen garments as it was quite cold. Pihu began to climb and descend and once fell upside down with a leg within chains but she soon resumed her choice play. We slowly entered the water world for a final round. White alligator, river monsters fishes, marine sea turtle,  during our 5African rock penguins, sharks, reefs to be touched and so forth were some special features which we enjoyed a lot to encounter. We snapped most of the events. We finally returned home at 7.35 p.m.

Life in The American Community

I have been habituated to live amidst the fellow Indians in different parts of India. In Bihar and Jharkhand, our neighbours were mostly alike. We often saw them to live as simply as the  natives mostly are. In the other parts of India like West Bengal, Delhi and Maharashtra, they resembled less with us due to life style variations and in Tamil Nadu, we saw the barriers of language and alike.
After arriving at my present abode, I feel a new sense of decency mainly after finding these white American men, women, kids and their pets all around. They are highly conscious of their public appearance in terms of  physical fitness, smart look, dressing sense and overall behavior. It is said that this is a free country i.e. devoid of all obsessions. However someone may easily sense here a definite art of living. Osho once said that the real Brindavan was California. Even spirituality does exist when there is an environment with a modest limit to everything. In chaos and disorder, a popular  religion looks hollow. Contrarily in abundant prosperity, we see the religion of life. I had heard that this was a purely material world where humanity serves the purpose of expansion of commerce and wealth but here I can feel the existence of humanity also via business and profit.
Back at home, our nation boasts of preserving our ancient culture slowly accommodating the benefits
of modern advantages due to advancing science and technology under the garb of the largest democratic set-up known as India. It appears that the thoughtful Nehru must have felt what I feel now and thus had vowed before launching of the five year plans in India  to bring about the results in mere ten years what the then USA had attained during two hundred and fifty years of hard struggle for the sake of growth.
Today in the afternoon, I was talking to my school day friend, Dr. Arun Singh who told me his earnest desire to retire from his present profession in US i.e. a practicing physician but he also desired to settle back in his native nation, state and township. He then narrated his sad experiences there after mother's death in April,2017 when he and his brothers had to waste months together and then pay a handsome bribe simply to get the mother's death certificate at their native place of origin. Life there was so disgusting that Arun still felt unnerved and wished to know my view. I too could not add any special positive note to what he had in store. Both felt an urge of solidarity with our age old promises made during those early years of life-making in Netarhat school and at the same time,  both stand confused or bewildered under our present circumstances despite the fact that we have been trying hard to make justice with our respective professions, societal obligations and likewise.
I have lived here for merely less than a month and should add more to this much as I experience. My son-in-law gave a few books for my time pass as well as  entertainment. Thus I started reading these one after one. Every page of them gives some lessons. The contents are meaningful. What I understood till now should be a helping technique to write further. This is 3rd March now to continue with a higher sense of onus. I must not blame anyone for whatever I feel and write is the central point. An unbiased observation of the surroundings tells the fruition  of hard thinking, followed by a well planned preparation before starting a new venture with' whatsoever be the results' like mindset and similar circumstances that might be a primary force to have driven this society to slowly come up to the present level. The occupants of this  vast nation were outsiders from Europe, South America and Africa. They came to make their fortunes. Many came as forced labourers. Even now, people come with great aspirations.

Shipment From China

The markets I look around in the city are huge-sized since these are spread over acres of landed area unlike we find in our sub-continent, in comparably quite small land holdings. Another prominent aspect of the markets here is almost every single
small or big item offered also has a hidden space below somewhere the item- Made in China,
something strange for visitors like me in particular, may be witnessed. These are mainly the consumer goods. Once we visited a weapons shop in the WalMart, we were told that this had different types of rifles only. Hence on production of his driving licence as a  necessary condition for purchase of such weapons here, I had an opportunity to see the two types of rifles each costing around $ 400, i.e. Rs. 25000- 27000. These were both light-weight and one of these with an in-built telescope, may be detachable. One without the telescope was semi-automatic. I found both much easy to handle. One of these had a punch hallmark namely, West Field. I however found these to be U.S. produced. Our ancestral .22 bore rifle was of U.S. make. It was of Winchester Co., made in the year 1877 about 140 years ago. I sense the difference of technology in the making of such weapons. I fully enjoyed this trip to the weapons shop.
Here we find no Chinese vehicles but the Japanese vehicles may be seen in plenty in every corner. In Bihar, we had a plethora of Chinese consumable items, out of which many are eatables like fruits in particular. In fact we as a student of economics study the effects of the comparative cost issues in international trade. But you see the American economic behavior, the causes of the same become more relevant because here we have an already advanced economy accommodating the products of other countries to show their presence in accordance with the maneuvring of market-mechanism which means the pressures of market demand in relation to the quality, price and similar other qualifications. This I write with a special reference to a sofa-set lying inside the drawing room which is very comfortable to sit and we had demanded on-line its suitable cover. This sofa set was of the Chinese make and hence its cover as demanded on-line was accepted to be supplied by the Chinese manufacturer through shipment from China and was delivered much before the scheduled date of delivery as a happy surprise for each of us. Later the cover was fitted and proved to be of its exact size and fitness. It indeed has added to its charm satisfying all of us.

On Our 34th Marriage Anniversary

It all started yesterday when  Sona  and Rakesh announced to celebrate our marriage day at Phoenix. We were kept awake till midnight when both as well as Mona accosted on arrival of the day. From the morning hours everyone wishing us. Abhinav and Mona too had joined for this occasion. In the evening a delicious cake and a nice flower pot were brought. We all made this evening quite special with a number of photoshoots etc. We then went to worship at Ekta Mandir. There we joined Aarti etc and after it ended returned home. Again Rakesh as per their plan went to a local hotel to fetch the desirable menu of eatables for our dinner.
This day will be remembered also because they showed a tremendous degree of enthusiasm to commemorate what we never would do without them in Purnea home. Mona and Abhinav have similar feelings as she had already declared to celebrate  our 40th anniversary whereas her sister's turn would be to do the same on 50th anniversary. Indeed this is they who instill vigour and confidence into our life.

Lake Pleasant of Phoenix

Yesterday afternoon, we were discussing to visit another tourist place in Phoenix and  they all took the name, Lake Phoenix. Thus it was decided that we must see this important picnic spot where a whole day would not be enough.
Since Sunday morning hours our afternoon programme was being contemplated. At 3.20 our Altima 250 Nissan was running towards the destination. In the way we saw several ups and downs of hilly terrain after which we were at the highest point of 'Discovery Centre' which by chance had just closed as this was just 4 p.m. We had however at our disposal a wonderful view of the entire blue water lake having small looking boats here and there. There were other visitors like us who were not aware of the time of its closure. Some children were drawing on paper sheets and others like us were taking photo snaps. We then moved downwards towards the lake water and finally walked upto the water edge attached to which were jetties mostly above the water level. Several water-born boats and a scooter driven  by men, women and children were roaming in and around. Nearby cars with attachment wheelers were ready to pick up these boats sailing across the lake to be taken back by their owners. We had snaps at this place also.
We returned from there an hour later. At home, Sona posted my facebook with a latest photograph snapped near the lake Pleasant. This was appreciated by friends in India almost instantly.

Magic of Sound and Vision in 1074, My Present Abode

Once I return to 1074, from outside specially after a morning walk, the Hindi songs of the old golden era charms and heals both ,the  mind and the heart. The electronic tools like He Google takes command for whatever you wish to hear and the large size tv screen displays flawlessly at your command- be it a news material, a serial from Sony tv channel or an old film on u-tube. This is all so magical for a person like me. Well, I had similar influences whenever I visited  my 2nd daughter's abode  in  Mumbai. The distances between these two cities like Phoenix and Mumbai often shrink with the help of scientific facilities and send me in the same transe and tranquility which I so much enjoy.

Baby Pratyush in The Family

According to the U.S. hospital certificate, the new-born baby's name is Pratyush Singh Thakur, his DOB 22-01-2018 and 3.05. p.m. as the exact time of birth. The baby occupies a special place in the hospital new-born babies records and soon to become a U.S. citizen.
No sooner the baby reached his Phoenix home, a warm welcome was felicitated to him and his parents, sister Pihu and last not least his maternal grand parents as well. His father and sister had arranged so painstakingly to make this day i.e. 27.1.18. so grand which made all of us feel proud. His paternal grand parents had been overjoyed ever since this great moment had arisen on 22nd when Goddess Saraswati had been worshipped all over the world. Sweets specially brought for this great occasion were also distributed among the family friends in Phoenix.

The Good News From Phoenix

On 21st January,2018 we were visited by our friends, students and relatives. Besides we had to attend many phone calls from relatives living in Bihar and outside. This was mainly as the news of our US trip was well spread among them. At around 3 p m I received a call from Rakesh who was speaking from the Phoenix hospital in very late night hours. Then suddenly we knew that Sona was hospitalized- expecting delivery any time. We had a mixed reaction of anxiety for them and the like. Our journey was a bit ahead whereas the arrival of the baby a bit earlier, but the thought lied on a single fact that how difficult it might be to care for Pihu, the first child whose both the parents would become engaged otherwise. Somehow Pihu had to be in the care of a family-friend.
Next day and night passed without any news except that  in U S , normal delivery was attempted for a maximal duration. Any way at around 3 am, we had a call  from Rakesh with a real good news telling that Pihu had gotton a little brother. We had a real joyous moment of life. By next early morning hours almost all the near and dear ones were acquainted with the news
Mona gave a name of the baby, Yuvi for Yuvraj. Later Sona talked to us from hospital. The baby was kept in a child special care unit for the following days. Since Pihu had caught cold, she had not to meet them in the hospital. In fact both mother and the baby had to spend much time in hospital but they spent  their time joyfully as a photography session had been arranged as a usual affair in such a case in U. S. Later they got an album full of memorable photoes with matching notes as well.
Both of them had arrived at home on 27th afternoon hours, just a few hours earlier than ours over there. A strange coincidence that we were welcomed in the USA not by three but an exact four members of this family of ours.

How My Foreign Trip Appeared Pre-empted

In 2016, we were thinking to try for getting passport papers and had a talk with Jaiprakashji, the then pro-vice chancellor of our university, who instantly agreed specially because he too had a wish for himself to get it. Thus we both had applied in the university for NOC sometimes in September,2016. Again, a long delay was caused on account of faults in the spelling of 'Chaudhuri' as well as my designation. This delay was partly due to my own apathetic attitude since I never felt any such urgency to hasten the work of getting an passport. I felt that it might be a distant possibility to really go abroad. Besides since Jaiprakashji had been in office of the pro-vc as such I had taken it for granted. As time passed the same work slowly advanced and around six months later , I got my paper from the university. My wife's NOC was not required thus no sooner my NOC was in hand I approached for our passport through a local agency which instantly eased for a final application at Purnea PassPort Office in the local Head Post Office. In June,2018 we had our PPs from the Govt. It was perhaps in the month of July,18 when we had the good news from Sona and Rakesh who were quite eager so that we would get the Visa in due time so as to book flight tickets for Phoenix. By September, they sent as many papers as required under the USvisa rules for clearance from US Consulate at Kolkata. An interview for our visa was fixed on October 30 and 31. Meanwhile I talked to my college principal for further permission at which he suggested to apply for permission to go abroad in the university. I followed the suit. During our Kolkata trip in October end, we got a sad news about Jayant Bhai's death while travelling  in the train. Anyway we completed that trip and were assured there to get our visa papers sometimes ahead at Patna. In between we had visited home and then met Jassu Bhai and others at Durgaganj. By the time we might join his last days rituals of Ekadasa etc in Durgaganj another urgent call came for us to immediately rush for Patna to collect our visa papers which would be sent back if delayed anymore. Thus we made a quick Patna journey and finished the collection work in November,17. Soon we also got our flight tickets. The rest of the works remained mainly to get things finally arranged for our foreign trip ahead from January 25,18.
My NOBA friend, Pannag Bhushan, meanwhile was in contact and when I wished to know if I had any chance to get a medical facility like one in India, he gave me the no. of Arun Singh, a working physician in USA, who might be consulted. I then phoned Arun in this regard who responded so well that I made up my mind to take medical leave for this foreign trip.My college principal gave me a firm support to go on the same so as to avoid earn leave for such a long durational leave.
My mother is used to phone and talk many times a day. She was unnerved with this programme but only for Sona she kept mum and slowly normalized to make me travel this far and for this long period of time. Mona and Abhinav leaving behind, I did not feel a charm ahead of the journey though both of them wished me for the same   till we met last at Bombay airport just for some time face to face, while rest of the while behind a glass divider-talking on phone. Thus was this trip - substantiated.
